Default M&P 22 compact threaded - WOW!!!!

Just took my new M&P22 compact with my Sparrow can out for the initial test drive. It functioned flawlessly with junk bulk ammo. Not a single hiccup, jam, FTF, or FTE - nothin but fun. The fit and feel is that of a high end quality firearm and the ambi safety was a real treat. All my past .22 auto experience was with Mark1-3's and a walther PP22.

I gave all my auto 22's to my sons when I bought a CZ SP01 9mm and the CZ 22 conversion, threaded. The CZ was a decocker model and the 22 conversion was flawless. But when I purchased my Sig P290rs, I decided to give one of my son's the CZ combo and stick with the Sig for my 9mm carry. This left me without a .22 auto.

A local gun enthusiast and dealer showed me the M&P22 Compact and stated that he owned one and how much he thought of S&W's quality standards in the M&P line. SO, I thought what the heck and jumped. WHAT A TREAT!!!! The M&P22 Compact has become the host for my suppressor. It's just a whole lot of fun and very reliable.

I also took off of the dealer's hands, a S&W model 24-6 3" barrel 44spl that was in mint condition, never fired (a safe queen) but without the original box and paperwork. Its owner passed away and the widow was liquidating the collection. I paid $600. I don't need no stinkin $600+ box and paperwork for this treasure. It turns out, when I researched this particular revolver with S&W that it is 1 out of 250 made. It is my new trail gun for Colorado hiking (two snake shot followed by 4 hollow points and heavy slugs - every other round).

The only "issue" my M&P 22 has, is it likes to be clean.

After 200 rounds, it's time to clean. Otherwise it gets sluggish and doesn't always go into battery. As long as I keep it clean, no problem.

As you use it as a supressor host, it may be less than 200 rounds for you.

Default M&P 22 Compact

I purchased a new M&P Compact on August 31st. I couldn't be happier with it! It feeds every type of .22 LR I've tried in it, and it's surprisingly accurate for what it is!

Mine will fire bulk ammo until it gets pretty dirty and then start to fail to extract. At that point I switch to CCI MM and it keeps on going fail free.

Really like both of my M&P22 Compacts (used). I bought a used one and then after I bought my dueling tree on my way "up north" to the cabin picked another used one up at a gun store for a very good price (super, super dirty though).

With both of them though, the sights were off, one was way off.

I have shot, 4-5 different kinds of ammo and am really impressed with them. Have 8 magazines for them now. Bought a new Buckmark 10 years ago or so and like that, but like the M&P22 much better since much more similar to my M&P 9 M2.0 Compact and somewhat to my Sig P365 (well I still think it helps).

They __do__need to cleaned regularly for sure. I seem to shoot a lot more with the dueling tree now and I usually have to clean them on the spot if I don't move onto another gun. I'd say 200 rounds for sure with my Otis kit and also bring some $1 store Q-Tips to clean them (work great).

Got an Action Target Rimfire Dueling Tree about 4-5 months ago ( with AR500 paddles ) and love using it when I go "up north" to the cabin.

Side note; one of the paddles was wonky, so emailed them about how I purchase a replacement, couldn't find it on their website for the Rimfire one. So they sent me all new 6 paddles (v2) free of charge. Was very, very surprised since I forgot to get back to them about what to do and I see a FedEx shipment coming my way. WOW.
