New, old stock M&P45...
I have a friend who can give me a deal on a M&P 45 full size. NIB old stock 1.0. What’re everyone’s thoughts? I’m a Glock guy but do love my Shield 1.0.
Should I pull the trigger?

What's the price?
The M&P 45 v1.0 is a fine firearm, if the price is right sure pick it up.

I've seen some new fullsize .45 2.0's in the high $300s from places like grabagun.com and Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore, fyi.

If the only way you can get an M&P .45 in your state is a private party transfer and you like it, I'd grab it before he changes his mind...

I’m LE, so I can get whatever - but the savings is $150-200 between this one and a new 2.0 or a Glock 21.

I'm waiting for that deal myself. It's either sold out or backordered.

Well my 1.0 is sweet, but you'll get a nice trigger upgrade with the 2.0 so if they are near the same cost might as well get the 2.0

I've got the M&P .45 2.0 and it is a fine pistol. The NIB 1.0 with night sights for the right price may be a deal to grab.

A few years ago I bought an M&P 45. They were hard to come by even then. I paid $600 out the door and was glad to get the gun. It is my second favorite handgun.
I have one I would sell, but it would probably take $600 to get it out of my hands. Yeah, I like it a lot.

I tried one out at the Sportsmans Warehouse in Wichita while on a trip back in 2012 and the trigger was terribly gritty. I knew my M&P40 smoothed out after a couple of years so I figured it wouldn't be bad but I wasn't in a hurry to get one so I put it off.
Now that it's no longer on the roster I keep kicking myself for not buying it here in CA before S&W abandoned us with the M&P 1.0's. I would buy one in a heartbeat if I could and at that price, even sooner.

I am very fond of my M&P 45 1.0 with it's 4.5" barrel. It is the softest shooting .45AP I've ever fired. It fits my hand well, the grip angle is great for me, and it's accuracy is as good or better than I can shoot it. It is bone stock, and I have no issues with the trigger or the function of this pistol. After it was fired about 500 rounds, it was even smoother and better. I am a long time double action revolver shooter, and I have no issues with the trigger on this gun, or on other M&P model pistols that I own, including my Shield 45. I have no need to make any changes! Mine cost me more than what the OP mentioned and mine was used, slightly used, but used! I have never regretted purchasing it, and I would not trade it for the 2.0 model even though that might be even better. I don't think the difference would be enough for me to justify the trade! This one just flat works and it works well, for me.

-$399 in stock
I looked as well. It's a compact model! So tempted but no full sized available for now.

I've been looking for the right deal on a .45. I have a new 4.5" Gen1 available to me for $350. I figure I'd spend the money for the Apex D/C kit and trigger which I like on my old .40. I would probably put Apex parts on a 2.0 if I bought one as well so...any reason for me to spend the extra money on a 2.0?

Yeah I hesitated and missed it. I think I'll hold out for a 2.0 4" for $399 deal. Likely a 12105.

I did not love my 1.0 45c until I swapped in the Apex sear. The difference now is really just the grip. If you carry IWB, a 2.0 is a little harsh on your skin.
The rough texture also snags a bit on cover garments.
YMMV.

Well, whatever I get is going to get Apex parts. And a 1.0 really needs some grip tape or something on it. For the few dollars difference, I expect I'll just grab a sub-$400 4" 2.0.

I thought my 1.0 .45 needed more texture also, so I swapped its backstrap with one of the additional backstraps i received with my 2.0 9mm. Perfect fit and much better grip.

Have to figure in the cost of the Apex stuff to get the trigger on the 1.0 guns where they need to be. Got the new 4" 2.0. Haven't had it out yet, but I like it. Trigger is better on these. Not quite as nice as my 1.0 .40 with Apex parts at 5#. Close, but not quite. FFL has a NIB 4.25" 1.0 9mm that he wants me to buy for maybe $320. Decisions.
