Default Any known issues with M&P hinged triggers breaking?

Just curious if there has ever been an issue with the lower hinged section of the trigger breaking off or the pins walking out?

No issue with this happening, just inquiring.

Thanks for any info.!!

I can't recall ever reading about a trigger breaking on an M&P but have read about them cracking near the hinge joint. I suppose if a crack goes unnoticed long enough the trigger will snap. I have four M&Ps and haven't seen a crack or a pin walking yet, and I inspect all visible areas of my pistols after every range session.

Never heard of a trigger hinge failure. Getting stuck behind the trigger travel stop, yes. Failure to return, yes. I don't think you could pull it hard enough unless you really wanted to break it.

I have two Shields and an M&P 40c with about 23,000 rounds between them. The hinged triggers on all three have held up perfectly. They should not be a cause for concern.

We had X00 M&P40 B series in service from early 2006 until my retirement in late 2015 without breaking any. We had some folks who could break anvils.

My M&P's get fed thousands of rounds from a DILLON 650

you have nothing to worry about.

I've owned a dozen plus M&P's. I still keep and shoot six. Never had a issue (or heard of an issue) with the durability of the trigger.

Well, I hate to burst everyone's bubble but, yes I have had the pin start to walk out of my FS 40. It only seems to do it on extended range trips and has only happened occasionally. It's never come completely out. I've always caught it before that and just push it back in.
