Converting Red Laser to Green Laser Shield 2.0 9mm
Emailed Crimson Trace Corp. about converting my red integrated laser to green.
Advised that with the return of the red unit and $33 and some change, they would send me a green unit. Had to pay upfront and get a "Return Authorization number" and we are good to go.
Mailed my red unit today.

you will like the green much more than the red. there is no comparison in the brightness and therefore the visibility. i think they treated you right.

Thanks for the information.
I’ll call and see if they’ll make that change to our LCP laser.
Took it off as it doesn’t fit in my ankle holster.
Great for point and shoot practice..... even without the little Ruger.

That is an amazing deal
Even though both lasers are only 5mw, the Human eye sees the green much easier than the red portion of the spectum
One thing to keep an eye on is your batteries
The method required to turning the base IR diode to green uses up batteries much faster then a red laser of the same power output

One allen wrench, one small screw.
Takes longer to address the envelope.

I keep spare batteries which are not hard to change on the CT, you do not have to completely remove it to do it...just take off the left side of the guard. Easy Peasy I have had red lasers on my other guns and have changed over to green on all of them. But damn a CT is expensive if you don't buy it with the gun. One thing I do tho when I change the battery is check it with a laser bore sight once it's all back together..

This is on the Shield integrated laser. The gun has to be broken down and the unit removed from just under the barrel.
Battery life does not bother you if you can't see the laser to begin.

The green is much easier to see day or night. You'll be glad you switched.
They sure made it an easy decision for you with that price.
Follow up with an install and range report.

I will.
I have another Shield with the green laser. It's all the difference in the World.
I plan on leaving one each to my two grandsons and want the guns to be equal as possible.

Not CT LG489G...just left side of the guard needs to be removed to change battery.

True, in fact Crimson Trace claims you only get 50% of the battery life with green laser, compared to red...

Info! Crimson Trace will only do the exchange with a laser that is still under the one year warantee period, per their customer service dept.
Mine is sent in to them, after paying 34 bucks, and it will also come with new green buttons and new battery. Do not send batteries to them, nor the red buttons. I should have the new green one next week. If you send it priority mail, enough free insurance is provided.
