Default M&P 2.0 Compact 3.6 vs. 4.0 slide

Anyone have first hand knowledge whether the slides can be swapped between the 3.6" and 4.0"? Should be, the frame appears identical.

The frames are not identical. Check the number of rail slots.

Doesn't mean the they won't fit but the dust cover on the 3.6" look shorter.

Can't put a 3.6 slide on a 4.0 frame... The frame is just about the same length as the slide.. Why do you want to swap em?

I'm tricking out a 4.0" for a friend. Just curious if it would fit on my 3.6" frame.

the metal ring and plastic molding stopping the backward travel of the slide is too long on the 4 inch frame, preventing the slide from fully cycling and allowing proper feeding of the rounds. you would modify it with a dremel and it would function, but not optimally and you would break the warranty. and down the line it would break itself because to dremel it and modify it you would need to remove the metal insert that actually prevents metal on plastic frame contact
