Default Smith & Wesson 2.0 Compact 9mm

The more I shoot my Smith, the more I like it. I am a Glock 19/23/32 guy, but the 2.0 Compact is neck and neck.

Here’s a pic, so it happened. 50 rounds at 10 yards.

Very nice. Giving a lot of consideration to getting one of these myself.

It wasn't really the gun, give the shooter a little more credit.

Thanks. Some pistols make it easier, though.

Nice shooting!

I have the 2.0 9mm Compact on my 'short list'.
Waiting on purchase permits.

My problem is that I prefer the 3.6", and here in NJ with our 10-round magazine limit, there are only 15-round models available from S&W.
S&W does NOT offer the 3.6" Compact with the 10-round magazines!
This means I would have to buy it with 15-round magazines that the FFL alters by drilling/pinning the magazines.
So the magazines could not be disassembled for cleaning. I would probably end up throwing them away after they got really dirty.
I would have to replace them with 10-rounders WHEN S&W finally starts selling them (they are not available yet unless you buy them with the 4" Compact model).
If NJ ever goes back to a 15-round limit (like California, we also have lawsuits pending in the system), I would have to buy new 15-rounders.

I called S&W last week and asked the customer service rep to 'pass along' my request for them to release a 10-round model of the 3.6".

I have 10-round full-size M&P mags for my Sub-2000, so I have a way to 'get around' this issue until the 10-round Compact magazines hit the market, but the whole thing stinks when I think about the extra cost for magazines because of S&W's wishy-washy arbitrary catalog choices.

Yes, I'm sure I would be happy with the 4" model, but I think I would PREFER the 3.6" model, and I'm only going to be buying one of these Compacts.
This will be one of the last pistols I buy this time around (1 per month to keep our Governor happy) to give S&W some time to add the 10-round option to their catalog - I hope!

I've lived in NJ since 1969. At that time, things were 'better' here. Now, the bureaucratic 'hoops' we have to jump thru are a real pita for gun owners. Buying (and selling) a handgun is more of a big deal because the permit process really limits you. So when I do it, I have to choose carefully, to avoid regrets. So far I haven't been disappointed with any of my purchases.

I intend to leave this State after my youngest finishes high school/college - 5 or 6 years to go!

It is a cumbersome process to purchase a hand gun in NJ, however, once you have gone through with it and your purchase is in your hands, the pain goes away. The 10 round mag limit really had me p****d because my 9C 2.0 came with 15 rounders (was legal at the time). I did have them modified to accept only 10 by an FFL. I find that my mags do not really get too dirty so the inability to totally disassemble them has not been an issue thus far. BTW - you only need to cross the Delaware River to be in a much more gun friendly state (PA).

Picked up my permits today (and a used Model 63), so the pain is starting to fade!

On other note, S&W now has the 10-Round 2.0 Compact mags available on their website. Natchez has them too at a better price. As of this morning, Midway and GunMagWarehouse did not have them yet.
