Default New 4” compact.

Just added to the stable, 9mm 2.0 compact with the 4” barrel. Just did the initial cleaning and loaded the mags with target rounds. Haven’t shot it yet as the range closed at 4 today. Can’t wait to shoot it and I might pick up a light for the rail. This will compliment my Shield nicely.

I’m sure it will be used quite a bit once it passes the reliability test of a few hundred rounds of target and 50-100 of hollow points.

I really enjoy my 4 inch compact, got the 40 though. The thing makes me look like I can shoot. lol

The only problem I am having is trying to find an IWB kydex holster that has a solid click when the gun goes in. All the ones I have tried so far do not fit it as I like. My 40c 1.0 holsters have the solid click that I like. It seems the area around the trigger gaurd on the 2.0 is not pronounced enough. Still looking.

Default New 4” compact.

I have a Tommy Theis IWB kydex for my Shield. It has that click when inserting it. I am thinking about ordering one for the compact. He makes molds of all the guns and then custom makes them to order for the gun you order. He can make them with a laser, light or without. Very good quality.

I love my 4 inch compact too. However with the fall/winter months upon us, I can easily conceal my 4.5 inch Full sized 45 again.

This is partly why I got the 4” for the winter months. Shield is great all the time but better for the summer.

I have M & P 1.0 4 1/4 & shield; like the new 4" Shield 2.0 with fiber optics but have not seen any in my area. As far as the new 2.0 compact is the grip narrower than the 1.0 models ?

Nice choice. Mine ran flawlessly and landed where I intended. I ended up moving to a 3.6 with the same results.

Default New 4” compact.

Can anyone tell me if they had some issues loading the first round into the mag? For the life of me I can’t get one in without my mag loader. Also does this look right?

Definitely found that it is easier to load with the right hand. Just seems to work better the way the follower is lined up.

I noticed that Academy and Grab a Gun are both selling this for $349, and Academy includes a $75 gift card so I am mighty tempted. Just wonder if anybody as any thoughts on why they are so cheap? Just bought the .45 compact 2.0 for $399

Couple hundred more rounds through it today including hollow points. This gun is ready now just waiting on the holster.

Great gun.
Mine just passed 1000 rounds.
Not a single failure yet.
I'm doing the other way around.
I bought shield today to compliment the compact.

First round used to feel difficult but now I don't even notice it.
Just have to align the magazine notch with the shell.
Never used mag loader on those 1000 rounds.

I am limited to ten rounds so the Shield fit the bill. Took Smith a long time to come out with a ten round compact and really wanted the 3.6 but not available in ten round unless you get the ten pound plus Massachusetts compliant version.

Default New 4” compact.

Because ten rounds is more than enough says the folks who never shoot guns. I have a year and a half left living in The People’s Republic of Connecticut.

Since I bought a maglula I don't intend to ever load either my Shield or my compact without it. It's stored in the top tier of my range box. I can't imagine sending a couple hundred rounds down range without it.

I am pretty much used to shooting my Shield and just bought a compact with 4 inch barrel last weekend. I couldn't wait to try it out so I went to the range on Tuesday but it was so cold and windy that I only ran 4 mags before calling it a day. First impression was that it shoots a little better than the Shield but I'll need a lot more than 60 rounds to say for sure. I will say I really like how it feels in my hands.

4" comes with medium large grip.
It felt good until I tried the largest.
It felt little big initially but it's perfect after a while.
So try larger grip than what you think it fits.

Thinking about putting a light on the compact and using it as home defense and carry. Was thinking the Streamlight TLR-7?

This weekend I'm up to a total of 800 rounds through my Shield 2.0 PC 9, Subcompact. Not one single FTF or stovepipe in 800 rounds. Never had a gun so easy to maintain and go boom every time I pulled the trigger.

Yes, I also debated on the compact, but wanted the 5" barrel and ambi safety. I do hope "Guns N Roses" does deliver my 5" M&P to Central Obamastan, I completely missed out on the grab-a-gun at 429.99, they couldn't ship it here? That stinks to high heaven, but hopefully I will have my M&P .40 5" before Christmas, who knows????

I drug my old 3913 LS out for some "play time" at the farm, it will shoot, but that wonky loooong double action pull, and then loooong take up single action?? I had a few hits from about 30yds, and they were all in the general vicinity??

I want another .40, I want a thumb safety, I want a 5" barrel, I want a Smith and Wesson M&P!

I've shot a .40 compact, and loved it, I'm sure you will enjoy yours immensely. give us a range report when you can...

Looks good.
I went cheap and got a generic light but it's very bright.
I guess easily over 300 lumens and has strobe function as well.
