How common is the rumored "front night sight falling out" issue with S&W? SMGA has the M&P 2.0 compact for only $329.99 shipped with 3 mags and I want to grab one, but several posters on the gun.deals forums were talking about how the front tritium vial falling out was super common, and figured I'd ask here exactly HOW common it is.

At that price grab one. Front sights are cheap and people usually replace them frequently.
Mine had the vial start coming out so I removed it and reinstalled it with some loctite for non threaded cylindrical fittings - I forget the number. The vial has stayed in place now for a bit over two thousand rounds.
I would say we see around ten to twenty percent of night sights have problems in the approximate 5,000 rounds fired throughout the academy. I personally don’t care because I change my sights out but it is a frustration.
bummer, so it's at least common enough to be an irritant. I just didn't want to replace the sight if I didn't have to cuz dove tails are a pain compared to the screw in sights like my glock and would require a gunsmith to pound them in and out ....but for $329.99 I'll take the risk and if they fail I'll call S&W.
