Default Trigger on .45 LE trade in

Bought a .45 LE trade in. Gun is clean, looks like it had not been shot much (but I have been reading a lot of the M&P LE trade ins look like this), no holster wear of any kind.

Trigger was super gritty - stripped gun and cleaned it (it had excessive amounts of oil everywhere). Reassembled and still very gritty. End up lightly polishing the trigger bar and firing pin. Firing pin actually had some very small burrs (on od where it set in the bore).

So anyways gritty feel is gone it is smooth now, but the break is horrible. Meaning you slowly pull the trigger without really being able to tell when exactly it will break.

I have put 50 rounds through it since cleaning it. Shoots nice other than trigger. It did cycle a round into chamber when I smacked a loaded mag into it.

Does anyone know if the DIY Burwell trigger job will help with this? More specifically the sear mod he outlines.

I know Apex makes a kit but honestly I bought with intention of a inexpensive range gun (my only .45). I feel I would be better selling and buy a 2.0 instead of installing an Apex kit.

Check out the kit from MCarbo. Replacement springs and polishing supplies with instructions. Their DIY videos are very good.
I have one on order. Reviews are good. $25 and free shipping on first order if you sign up for their e-mails.

I actually went through it myself.

FYI for anyone looking to fix theirs...

My LEO trade looked mint, but needed complete disassembly as it was way over oiled.

My gritty trigger was all in the striker block pin. The od of the pin needed to be polished (where it rides the the bore). It had a rough machining job (they should od grind these not turn on a lathe). I did also go over the trigger bar and polish it.

As for the trigger I did file the sear ramp (Burwell mod). Huge difference - trigger is actually nice now and reset is MUCH better.

I did not replace any springs - left it stock. Trigger is slightly heavy but I am fine with that. My goal with this was to keep this gun inexpensive (I have a total of $265 in it with extra mag). Really happy with it now.

I just looked at the Burwell instructions. They seem comprehensive, but I have to grit my teeth every time I read "role" when it should say "roll".
