Never thought I would shoot this well
WITH A SEMI-AUTO that is. I’m a revolver guy but like to carry semi-auto for concealment. I’ve carried a Glock 43 for several years but could never shoot it well. After 2200 rounds I decided to try the Shield 9mm. Got a 1.0 version for $279. Put Talon grips on it. Wow, am I impressed with this gun. I’m not a great shot with anything but am much better with a revolver. I can honestly say that I can shoot the shield almost as well as I can my 686 3inch. At 25 yds, shooting at an 8 inch steel plate, I hardly ever miss. At 50 yds was having more hits than misses. It prefers the 147 gr, but I’ve shot all kinds of ammo through it. 600 rounds of flawless fun. I even like cleaning it. If you can’t tell, I’m really happy with this little feller.

I've carried my gen 1 Shield 9 for several years, not a single issue. The more I shoot it, the more I like it! The trigger has smoothed out nicely. I don't leave home without it. I carry 147 gr Hornady Custom XTP in mine. Enjoy. :-)

Congrats on your Shield. I currently own three. There are others out there that are now the latest and greatest but it is hard to beat the Shield when you consider price point, features, reliability, ergonomics, and Smith & Wesson customer service. Shoot often and shoot safe. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

I bought the compact 2.0 40 when on sale along with a rebate gift card, so under 300...one of my sons took it shooting to compare it to a glock and I haven’t seen it since, but the last I heard he bought a holster for it and some mags

I bought the 40 Shield when it was new......shot it a lot, liked it showed it off here and there, several folks offered to buy it. Found a Shield 45, bought it on the spot, sold the 40 the same day, love the 45 even better! It's a Gen 1 and I don't care.
I've always been a Smith guy, have owned dozens of their revolvers, and always swore by them. The M&P's are just as good, in a different way. I now have five M&P's in three calibers, and enjoy them all. Kind of surprising for a dedicated wheelgunner. Either I'm adapting or getting smarter, I'm not sure which.

Can’t go wrong with a Shield. I bought a .40 when they first came out. Zero malfunctions shooting any ammo in 40SW or 9mm (have that barrel as well).
