New M&P 2.0, what a deal!!
Stopped in the local Rural King last night and they had a New M&P 2.0 in the case for $309. Looked it over, came with Tritium Night Sights, 3 mags, etc in one of the nicest plastic boxes I've seen. Came with the Thumb Safety, which I hope to remove. SKU is 11677. When I got home and looked up the sku, it showed a LE ONLY. Don't know how RK ended up with these, but me and another guy took the last 2 they had. Hoping to get to the indoor range today to shoot a few mags through it. $309 for a new 9mm compact w/4" barrel plus extras-Im a happy camper!

Nice find! Personally I would use the manual safety for "administrative" use (on for holstering, off when in the holster) and otherwise ignore it.

What was your price out the door?
There was a huge batch of these from several vendors online sans the safety for a similar price.
My guess is S&W, as well as other manufacturers, will be adjusting/dumping before PSA releases their PS9 Dagger (G19 clone) for $300-- a very good thing for the poly 9mm market.
That said, the 2.0 is a great shooter and have enjoyed mine-- would take it over a G19 any day.

^^^Exactly^^^. Guys are soooo against the safeties, I like mine for holstering, the rest of the time it stays off safety.

I am not for or against, but prefer none-- potential extra step in the firing process, and extra mechanical device designed to stop a pistol from firing.
S&W is smart to send out a filler for the gap should one elect to remove the manual thump safety, be a shame to pass on a deal because of it.

Oh good. I have been hoping for a thorough discussion of the safety vs no safety question. It's high time we get that one out in the open.

With tax, $331 + change. None of my other M&Ps have the safety, just my preference. Went to the indoor range and ran 50 rounds through it just to check function. The safety got in my way, so I will be calling S&W for frame plugs. No surprises or issues. Didn't think Id like the grip texture, but for SHOOTING its pretty nice. Real test will be carrying comfort. I carry OWB, but summer with just a t shirt and texture against my skin will tell the tale. Date code on Label is 032018, March 20, 2018?

That is a phenomenal price OTD, considering the extra mag, night sights, and case.
I would not pass on that just due to the thumb safety, and contact S&W as well for the plugs.
Great pickup on a great shooter.
Y'all carry OWB in Indy huh?

You can solve the issue of rough grip texture against your skin easily. A few passes with 220 grit sandpaper over the left or right panel (which ever is against your side) and it'll take the sharp peaks off.
BTW, congratulations on the new gun.

I hated the texture of mine at first but after a while it has worn in. It’s still grippy when shooting but not near as sharp as when brand new.

If you remove that safety and don't want to keep it, I would like to buy it, along with the spring and detent. I am in North/Central Indiana.

Right now, just looking for a few add'l. mags. I see no reason to mess with the trigger, feels very nice out of the box. Have about 200 rounds through it so far with no issues at all. Will keep everyone posted as I go along. :-)
