Default MP 2.0 Magazine issue

I just purchased an M&P 2.0 Compact (4 inch barrel) in .40 cal, NIB, and the two magazines that came in the box are stamped "9mm". The capacity should be 13rds and I can only fit 11rds. It seems like I got the wrong caliber magazines.

Are the 9mm/.40 S&W magazines interchangeable or did they put the wrong magazines in the box?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply.

They are caliber specific 9mm or .40/,357. Did you get the box with the pistol, double check to make sure you got the correct box. If the correct box and you bought it from a shop, check with them to make sure they didn't inadvertently get things swapped around, third give S&W customer service a call and I'm sure they will get you straightened out.

Are the 2.0 magazines different frim the 1.0 mags? On the originals they were pretty much interchangeable although I can't remember if the capacities differed between them. Whether firing my pistol in the .40 cal or 9mm configuration the magazines didn't seem to matter. Although when using the .40 cal magazines with 9mm they would sometimes lock the slide back when there was still one round in the mag. Since your mags are stamped 9mm though I think someone got things mixed up.

I believe this has been reported by others on occasion.

If it was a brick and mortar, pop in and notify them of the issue, likewise an online store get in touch with their CS.

For such great wisdom, feel free to send me your 9mm mags, I will give them a happy home and cover shipping, along with a snazzy gift as a thanks

Contacted S&W Customer Service. They sent me a return label and will exchange the magazines. Thanks again for the replies.
