Daughter's Pistol
My daughter has been and is very good to me. I decided that I would repay her a little with a new pistol. I was getting ready to order her a Sig P365 after seeing all the good things written about them. All of a sudden my brain engaged and I decided that we better go to Academy and let her handle one. She loved it until she tried to rack it and she could, but with a lot of effort and time.
We looked at a couple of more guns and a different sales person came along and saw her problem and borrowed a gun that a guy was buying. It was a Performance Center 380EZ. It racked easy and felt good in her hand and she liked it's looks. It wasn't that much larger than the J Frame she carries. As it turned out that was the last one that they had.
I went home and started scouring the online gun stores and finally found one at Palmetto. Got it ordered and will have to just wait(I haven't found their shipping to be speedy). Did save a little money though. I hope it isn't a mag picky one.

Nothing says family time like range time.
The P365 is such a niche gun, and IMO, overpriced. That is not to say I wouldn't mind having one, but the EZ covers a bit more in a general sense, for a more appropriate price point.
J frame to EZ may be an adjustment, congrats on the pickup!

If I buy another defense gun......
...I'm going to seriously look at the EZ for my wife. She is a revolver person.

Good luck on the EZ.
Palmetto is weird, they won't send an order conformation, shipping conformation, or tracking, your stuff just shows up at your door with no notice.
I ordered the 5 Shield mags and 250 rounds of ammo for $99 deal, and it was here in 4 days. I wasn't even sure it had been shipped yet.

My wife has the EZ and loves it, I order a S&W Bodyguard from them and it showed up at my FFL within two weeks.

You certainly did the right thing by letting her choose the one she is able to operate and likes. I have a Sig 365. It is my EDC. I don't think it is overpriced when one considers the cost of night sights and I like the dovetailed front sight. Actually, I like everything about it. My elderly friend decided to go the S&W Shield .380 EZ after he found he had trouble racking the slides of other autos. Now my wife is having some of the same issues and is considering one. Luckily our local indoor range has one for rent and we'll probably have a "date" there in the near future so she can try it out. Looks like the going price for them is around $380.00, but my buddy found a local small gun shop that sold him one for $330.00.

You sir are a great Dad. Right now I am currently looking into something for my wife and have yet to find a pistol she would actually carry (she's not into revolvers). She hasn't handled an EZ yet but I plan to suggest it to her.
By the way the guys at Palmetto State are top notch. I have been there a few times and always enjoy dealing with them.

A couple of us instruct the local basic CCW class and the Well Armed Woman (continued education classes) and highly recommend the Shield, the EZ as well as the 365 and the new hellcat for the ladies to consider. One thing that was brought to my attention about the EZ is the girth of the grip or the distance to the trigger. It may not be the best choice for those with small hands or short fingers. Just be aware of this when shopping.

I've found that buying a gun or shoes for a lady isn't a good idea. You did the right thing by letting her choose what suited her.

I'm sure she will be happy with the new gun. If she hasn't learned this though, she might want to take a look at this instruction on how to rack a slide. My wife is a tiny woman from Thailand, and she can rack the slide on any gun we have. She couldn't before learning the proper technique though. Now she can pick up any gun, and rack the slide. How Women (Or Anyone With Weak Hands) Can Easily Rack A Pistol Slide - Prepared Gun Owners

In terms of the racking, my lady is a lean 5'7 and was initially unable to rack a slide, overhand grip and stressing opposing forces took care of that-- good across the board

I have shown my 9mm EZ to several folks with problems racking semi-auto.
The indoor range I frequent now has two new members but the big box store next door made two sales.
