Default Finally Drank The M&P Kool Aid

I've waited for years, watching and listening to the pro-M&P crowd and the not so 'Pro' opinions. Today I pulled the trigger on a S&W M&P 2.0 45acp with a 4.6" barrel from GrabAGun.
They were at least $120 dollars cheaper than Academy Sports, Gander Outdoors , Cabelas and local B&M's. This is my first order with them.
I think this will be fun. It will currently be my only tupperware pistol since getting rid of other makes.

First, congratulations on your M&P!
I have a couple M&P 2.0's and I just love them. IMHO; they are a great value for the dollar and offer a lot of gun for the money. The M&P's are great at the range and superior for concealed carry.

S&W is making it difficult to ignore the M&P line with itís pricing.

Iíve been planning on a gen5 G19 but when I got Budís gunshop email of a M&P 2.0 9 compact for $349. I couldnít resist.

OP enjoy the .45 I know Iíll enjoy my M&P if only because of the price paid. Finally Drank The M&P Kool Aid

I think the M&P 45's are some of the softest shooting 45's around. I normally shoot and carry a 1911, have and shoot a Glock 21 and bought M1.0 full sized and M1.0 compact M&P 45's. To me the M&P recoil impulse is just smoother. The grip of the M&P 45's isn't as squarish as a Glock and the size is slightly fuller than a 1911. I really like my Shield 45 also and it is beginning to share daily carry duties with my Micro 1911 45.

It came in today and I went through the clean and lube I usually do. It was quite dry.
I am impressed by the fit and finish. Thanks S&W!
Trigger is better than the other plastics I've owned (Glock and XD's). I had one XD40 that had a very good trigger for a striker fired pistol, but would pinch my finger. My analogue trigger gauge puts this one at 6.5 pound. The feel is very manageable IMHO.
It may seem that this post is just repeating what some others have said, but it is quite a departure for this 'dyed in the wool' 3rd Gen loving, striker pistol doubting, dude.
Can't wait to put some reloaded lead through it. I do have an MCARBO spring kit in my possession that I will very likely install since this will mainly be a paper puncher for me.
Anyone tried LSWC's in theirs? What seems to work best for target shooting?
Thanks.

I predict you will like the pistol, the M&P is what brought me back to the 45 ACP caliber. I've owned a 1911A1 since the early 80s but have't shot it much the last 15 years or so because the sights keep getting harder to see. I picked up a 45 M&P 4" when some government agency had dumped a bunch on the market and they were inexpensive. With the M&P I can see the sights again and have since picked up LEO trade in pistols in both the full size and compact version. Watch the Aim Surplus ads as they occasionally have the magazines on sale for $10 each and free shipping if you buy 5 or more.

Iíve noticed that too. As my guns age, the sights are getting blurry!

I picked up a used M&P 45 full size, probably a LE trade in. I wanted to see what all the hype was about and the price was too good to pass on. Nice gun! Itís accurate, functions flawlessly and is pleasant to shoot.

I have yet to drink the plastic pistol Kool-Aid, but I handled and shot Glocks and I have handled S&W M&P pistols. The M&P does feel good in my hands and new M&P's can be had at or sometimes better prices than used Glocks. Very tempting. Very tempting...

I bought the original M&P9 way back when they first came out (in lieu of an SW99) and although it is a good gun, I have not bought more M&Ps. I have been looking at the M&P45 2.0 RDE SKU 11769. Of course, I could get an M&P45 1.0 for half as much, but that is not a 2.0 is it?

There was another fire sale on those last year IIRC. I didn't get one because the brand new XD Tacticals were the same price at CDNN and Springfield were having one of their "3 mags and a range bag" deals at the same time.

I just bought an M&P9 2.0 for $349. From Budís and a used M&P40 for $250. Thatís 2 guns for about $50.00 more than a gen5 G19 was going to cost me.

And, sadly, it's almost impossible to find metal receiver S&W pistols for those prices.
