Default Shield EZ 9MM First Outing

175 rounds of my 124 grain reloads. Everything fed, fired, and extracted perfectly. 25 feet head shots easy. I do have to adjust the sights a hair to the right. I shot at my indoor range and only brought back 125 pieces of brass. The others bounced off wall and over bench and range officer doesn’t call cease fires. No biggie. I have thousands of pieces of 9MM brass.

I really like this gun. I carried in an Alien Gear OWB holster. Nice and tight to body. I prefer shooting it over my Shield 1.0. It’s like an updated 3913 but lighter. I really like this gun.

I've been seriously thinking about the 9 EZ, my Shield 1.0 spring is really aggravating at times. Thanks for the review.

What about the recoil. I have a EZ 380 I bought for my wife and was thinking of getting the 9mm version.
I was wondering about the recoil and how it compares with the 380. I know it would be more but is it really a tough gun to shoot? I saw another thread and the guy said it was a beast to shoot.

I never shot a 380 but recently picked up an EZ 9 to replace my 1.0 Pc Shield 9. I find the EZ to be a bit easier to manipulate in general, and i like its trigger better. I dont have a problem with any recoil in the 9’s I own, in fact overall i find recoil fairly similar (for me) in any of my MP models.
I think regardless of the “EZ” specifics, I find it to be a nice shooter.

Recoil was fine. Less than standard Shield, which I don’t find to be bad. I’ve never shot the .380 so can’t compare.

Here’s the results of my first mag i shot thru mine, 6 yds. Only to show how nice out of the box it was. So yeah if you have a chance to rent one, give it a shot.
Lol

Did you purchase it online or locally? I'm starting my research for the best place to buy.

I have this little wonder and love it. Only one problem, with my big hands I kept hitting the mag release. IT JUST STUCK OUT TOO FAR. I thought of doing some optionation and called S&W to see if I could obtain another mag button. They said that was something they couldn't send out.I can take it out but I can't replace it???
Well, I took my trusty Dremel and did some adjustment and it works fine now. I try to accidentally drop the mag without success, but I can intentionally drop it every time. Works like a charm. Anyone else have this issue?

YES!!
I had the M&P 9c and it became hard to rack the slide because of the recoil spring strength, and lack of hand strength in my advanced years.( No, I'm not old, just advanced)
So the ease of racking and loading the mags sold me on the EZ and I have no regrets whatsoever. Wonderful little gun.

Gunbroker. I think it was $379. I'd have to look.

My wife purchased one, (a 2.0 revision), on Monday as a birthday present, because of the spring issue. She bought it a the LGS, $392.00 OTD including tax. I wiped the excess oil off of it and we went to the range to do a function test. We shot about 150 rounds through it, and it functioned perfectly, no issues at all. The sights might need adjusting, but I want her to shoot it again before we do that. It seems the recoil was a little greater than my Shield 1.0, but not much.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I rented the EZ 9mm and it was great. If you have an Academy Sports around it is on sale for $419 but I think this is the last day.
