Red face "New" M&P9c 1.0 noob oops help!

I finally purchased a carry pistol, and being that I'm a Dad and Lefty, the M&P9c seemed like a great fit with ambi controls and manual safety. This is my first semi-auto pistol of my own, and I think I made an immediate noob mistake. I first took it down to inspect all the parts, and noticed some gunk in there, so I grabbed my oil and went to work... Then I wiped everything down as best I could and put it back together, and now the trigger return spring hangs or something, I have to return the trigger manually. Also, sometimes I have to pull the trigger a second time to release the striker, but I did clean the striker and striker channel fairly well. I'm guessing I got oil somewhere it shouldn't in the lower, and don't want to move forward without some advice. The gun will run, but given this is for my EDC, I need to make sure this thing is fixed and fixed properly. Thanks in advance for any and all help provided!

Did you completely disassemble it, like removing the trigger bar assembly and sear housing block?

I didn't, I didn't want to remove the roll pins unless I had to... I take it I should?

NO

Absolutely 100% do NOT remove any roll pins. There is no reason to even remove the striker unless you know what your doing and/or have a need to do it.

I'd suggest you read the manual, watch some videos and then disassemble and inspect everything and compare to pics/video. More then likely it's something simple but in your inexperience easily overlooked.

By the way did you return the trigger disconnector up?

Did you swing the internal sear disconnect all the way back up?

Excess oil can't cause the problem you describe. Tear it down again and visually inspect everything.

Here's a vid to help you understand how the M&P trigger works.

Looks like it's definitely catching on something. Make sure there's no other debris like remnants of any cotton swabs, patches, etc.

In your video, it looks like your safety is slightly up, make sure it's fully depressed.

Keep us informed of your progress.

Your trigger and trigger bar WILL NOT reset without the slide on the pistol and the slide cycling. A track machined in the underside of the slide interacts with the trigger bar to reset it with the cycling of the slide.
Also, do not lubricate the striker and/or channel. They should be kept clean and dry.
