Default Shield 2.0 weird lever/ wire

Just purchased a m&p shield and I noticed something on the front slide serrations or part slide goes on that I never noticed on my other pistols. It looks like maybe a spring or something. I can still pull back amd dry fire put I haven't put rounds threw it

What are you talking about? It looks like any other shield with CT. Be Safe

That is a normal part of all M&P pistols. I believe that is the end of a spring that is attached to the slide stop. As long as it is not sticking out and blocking the movement of your slide, it's OK. On very rare occasions they will pop out and your slide will get stuck in place. That usually requires a trip back to the factory. It doesn't happen often, though. I have three M&P semi-autos with nearly 30,000 rounds through them combined, and the spring wires are all still firmly in place.
