Default M&P 2.0 45auto 4.5"...... slide to frame transition

Hello all.
This is my very first post here.
I'm rather concerned about my brand new M&P 2.0 45 auto with a 4.5" barrel.
Pistol fires fine and is as accurate as my other 4 S&W pistols.
However I'm rather disappointed that the rear of my slide sticks out past the grip a bit. When open carry I have a tendency to occasionally rest my arm on the Back of the slide and my shirt caught on it twice , plus it isn't smooth like my other pistols are.
I know it's only a couple mm off , but it's not at all a decent transition and smooth like my M&P shields are.

So my question is this.....should my slide be flush at the rear ?
Should I contact S&W over this ?
If anyone could for comparison post a couple images of theirs at the rear , so I can tell if it's normal or not it would be appreciated.
Regardless the cause I'm not liking it at all.....Thanks
Please give me a few minutes to post a couple images

That definitely isn't right and I would absolutely be contacting S&W about it. Did you notice it being like this when you got it or has it happened after firing it? Either way I'd definitely be getting it looked at, if not replaced.

It was like this right out of the box 2 weeks ago. I ordered online and didn't notice it until I went fishing a few days ago. I've snagged my shirt sleeve and fishing line on it and it's not giving me any warm fuzzy feelings anymore.

No that's not normal. I'm trying to think how/why that could happen.
Your RSA is seated fully inside the slide's dust cover and in the correct notch under the barrel ?

I just assume it was machined off a bit ? I double checked and my spring assembly is correct.
I'm hoping a couple members will post a couple images of theirs so it will seal the deal to contact S&W

Brother, don't wait to "seal the deal" to contact them. Just do it. You can look at lots of other M&P pics online and see that they don't look like that.
And please let us know what S&W says/does regarding your pistol.

I thought maybe I was being too picky on the rear slide transition.

Has it been like that since round 1?
Have you field stripped it?
If you push forward on the slide does it move flush?

Yes.....from 1st round.
I've field stripped 2× and the slide is in full battery.
It does not push forward.
Accuracy and feeding is perfect for 100 mixed rounds , just as my other M&P are.

Default Shipping back to S&W

Well.....I just got off the phone to S&W and it's going back.
Expected turnaround is a bare minimum of 6 weeks ?
Sour taste in my mouth for sure.
It's either going to be fitted properly or I will ditch it for a better one that has proper fitment of the slide to frame.
Looked at the exact pistol at Cabelas 30 minutes ago and it's perfect but $100 more than I paid online for this one.
Makes me think quality control has gone down the tubes....siiiiggghhh.
My initial excitement and exhilaration is now replaced with extreme aggravation and dissapointment........6 Weeks at a minimum !!!!! ???
