Question 4 Inch PC shield thumb safety question

I want a 4 Inch PC Shield but I want a thumb safety. We have several shields and compacts all with thumb safetys (one of the compacts I put the safety in it, but the frames were the same)and want to keep them all the same. I know that the 4 inch shield doesn’t have one so my question is there any difference in the frames between safety /non safety other than the cut out for the safety lever. If not I should be able to take the housing and detent parts and put them in the PC shield if I make the cut out for the safety lever. I want to keep all the 2.0 updates on the PC shield. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ,
tbird
