Default Shield 4” w optic

I saw one in my LGS, in 40. It felt pretty good and the optic seemed brighter/ less tinted than the romeozero on a Sig 365. I’m not that excited about the Performance Center’s ported barrel or fiber optic Sights, but the longer slide, optic and ability to use my current Shield mags is appealing. Does anyone have any experience with this model or any thoughts about it as a primary edc?

The two tiny ports help with the .40 recoil in my experience, in 9mm, not so much. I've had this PC .40 for 4 years now.

I bought the 9mm non-ported version. Like it. I did not want porting, and don't care for fiber optic sights. I wanted the RDS, and it does what I need for my eyes. I did a short write-up at the time, which is findable with the right search.

Default Shield 4” w optic

I have the non ported 9mm version. Hi viz sells a kit with different color pipes and I put black pipes in the rear sight. Very happy with this configuration.

I have the non-ported 4" Shield 9 with red dot sight. I am very pleased with this little pistol. It shoots great and has an outstanding trigger. I have a Glock 34 with a Holosun 407C and a Glock 19 with a Trijicon . I like them both, and their optics are quite good, but I'd rather shoot the Shield. I'm not a fan of the F/O sights, but they work fine and I can always change them out, if I so desire. As a daily carry gun, I think it's pretty hard to beat. Like Doug M. said above, the RDS does what I need for my eyes.

I have the 4" 45acp PC and my wife has a 4" 9mm PC without optics and we love them. We also have the 3.5" and 3.1" PC versions as well. All of them shoot really well but the wife's 4" 9mm is the grand champion.
