Default Maybe I'm wrong. Need opinion.

I just purchased a 9mm M&P Shield ez 2.0.
The slide is milled up near the front. Small half moon shapes. Well it was done bad imo. You can literally see into the gun and look at the spring at the right angle. I messaged the company and was told its "normal". I live 10 minutes from the plant in Springfield, MA. I wanted to bring it over and show someone but they don't do that. So I sent pictures in a email. And thats when I got back its normal. Not one of my other guns from any manufacturer is like this. I've been looking fro a replacement. Although I shouldn't have to buy one. I just want it solid. I will try to put pictures in the reply section.

It's normal. Forget about it and enjoy it. It's a nice gun.

It's the cutout notch for the takedown lever and it's the same way on all the one's I've seen, so I would definitely call it normal. Is it the best look or design, not really in my opinion.

Yes, the EZ's notch is somewhat different from other M&P's, but normal for this model. It does look odd but the need for it becomes clear the first time you field strip the gun.

The pictures of the Performance Center gun show the same thing. If you want an EZ you will have those cut-outs.

Yep, perfectly normal. If you want to sell it, you'll get full price for it in this market.

Some people like to press check their gun. S&W added the half moon cut outs on the front of the slide for that purpose. They did the same to the Shield 2.0.
As mentioned above, the cut out is for the takedown lever.
I have a 9mm EZ and love it. It’s a tool to be carried and shot.
I’m more interested in function than beauty, but have that safe queen that’s just to pretty to shoot.
Each to his/her own however.

Be SAFE and Shoot Often !

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the half moon so you're take down lever can rotate 90 degrees to take it apart?

Well it's hard to tell for sure in the OP's pics but his little grasping cuts seem to be a bit out of alignment and sloppy.

and sloppy.
