I was gonna second this. Usually the rear sight is moved in the direction you want the rounds to go, i.e. if your shots are left you would drift your rear sight right to bring your POI right. This is assuming, though, that it's in fact the gun and not the shooter. If you're saying your rear sight is way off to the right, then you (theoretically) should be seeing a group patterning off to the right of your POA.
I would absolutely do what another guy said and have someone else shoot the pistol first that is confirmed to be a good shot, and see if the POI shifts to a more favorable position. I've never really seen sights drifted substantially except for people that are left-handed but right-eye dominant (I know, weird), so there's that.
