Thumbs up Pelican Rules!

I finally broke down and bought a full length Pelican Roller Case for my Remington #722 (Jan.1953) that is my pride and joy! I first fired this one in about 1957-8 with my father. Prior to this, I had a rather cheap foam lined poly-case, that now holds my Remington #121 22LR Pump (1948). FWIW, I used to keep both wrapped in DIY corduroy socks stored in a cedar chest.

All I can say is that "better" storage is BETTER! And it sure makes a trip to the range even "BETTA'...!"

This depends on local laws and also range regulations. Years ago we went to a range where they wanted to inspect our pistols at check in. They had to be in a hard case w/ a lock. I had several of them and kept using them even though we no longer go to that range. Then I got a new smaller bag which had two pistol rugs in it. They didn't even have zippers, just a velcro strap over the open side. So I install a trigger lock on the pistol and put it in the rug. Wow, this takes up a LOT less room in my range bag than the previous hard cases did. I used a marker to put an arrow on the outside indicating which way the barrel is pointing. Every place I have been including three different idpa ranges have been fine w/ this setup.

I just use a NRA range bag they sent me a few yrs ago on one of my renewals. Works fine, enough room to pack a weekend trip!
