Welcome to the forum!
Have you tried the 380 yet? I have one of these and like the stock feel.
Talon has both the rubber and granulate options for these and they get good reviews for their grips but there may be cheaper alternatives that now do the 380.

Try Tractiongrips. I have used quite a few f them, and they work well and are less expensive than Talons. You can also make your own, with traction tape from the hardware store.

It’s actually for my GF , she tried stock and liked the grip and we found one that was performance so we just picked it up, has not been delivered yet. I was hoping the grip would feel the same as original . Thanks

Just noting if the OP’s 380 is the EZ model it will have the grip safety. So any texturing would have to be tape-like that can be applied to sections. Versus a grip wrap that covers everything.
Unless a wrap company has come up with one that’s for the EZ’s and their safety?

Are the Talon grips actually more aggressive than what comes stock on the 2.0 M&Ps?
They come from the factory with grips that feel like coarse grit sandpaper. You might want to wait until your GF tries the new gun as is before you change anything.

I found on my EZ 9 that the grip texture seemed to be in-between the old 1.0 models and the rougher texture on most regular 2.0’s. I wish the regular 2.0’s had that middle ground texture like the EZ as i would not have ruled other 2.0’s out based on how they felt. I am not a fan of that sandpaper feel.

Dave,
The 380 EZ although a M2.0 is not nearly as aggressive as the regular M2.0 M&Ps.
Talon makes both a rubberized and granulate versions specifically for the 380, the granulate one is the 'course grit sandpaper' type.

I didn't know S&W tamed down the grip texture on the EZs.
I was wondering why anyone would possibly want more than what is on my 2.0 compact.

If you keep checking hardware stores they sometimes have a rubberized stair no slip tape. It is much easier on the hand than the sandpaper type. And look at pieces already cut to fit a stair because that opens up a few more selections at some stores. I bought a 2 pack where each piece is maybe 7 inches by 18 inches and has a bright yellow stripe about an inch in from the edge of one of the long sides. There is still a LOT of sandpaper type tape even cutting around the stripe. BTW a hair dryer makes fitting around compound curves a little easier.
