Just bought a 5" Performance Center core 2.0...
... Can't wait for it to arrive! Curious to see how it handles compared to my Shield 9.
Who has the 5", and how do you like em?

I started looking for a 5 inch 2.0 CORE right after they were announced and then things went all 2020.
Where did you order yours from? I would like to get one but don't want to pay an inflated price for one and suspect it will be next year before prices go back to normal.

Ordered it from Northwest Armory. Price was inflated a bit but not as bad as some that I had found. All depends on what happens Nov 3rd. Things may not settle down.

My 5" M&P is not a 2.0, but I have both 1.0 and 2.0 4.25" M&Ps and a 1.0 Shield to compare it to.
The 5" M&P will be a huge departure from your Shield... apples and oranges, really.
I found the 5" to shoot a little softer than the 4.25" guns, but a little slower on the draw out of most holsters. It's a little better for distance precision because of the extended sight radius, but I also have Dawson sights on my 5" gun, which are a factor.
The biggest difference I notice in shooting the 2.0 compared to 1.0 guns is the much more aggressive stippling on the 2.0 grip. Much better for shooting, but tends to drag on cloth more when carrying concealed.

Picked up my 5" from the FFL after work today. Haven't had time to clean and shoot, but I did do some dry fire. Sure do like the feel of the trigger, smooth with a clean break. Feels pretty light too. I'll put the scale on it when I get cleaning it after work tomorrow.
Pretty happy thus far.

Well I cleaned and lubed the new 5”. I put the scale on the trigger, consistent 4lbs 5oz. over 6-8 pulls.
Went out and ran 170 rounds thru it today. It ran flawlessly. The grip stippling is very aggressive. After more shooting I may knock that down a touch, maybe.
After shooting I stripped it down to clean and check it out. I found a groove worn in the barrel. Does not look good after 170 rounds.
I will start a new thread to ask opinions.

Dang I wish I could get a 2.0 with a nice trigger like that. Mine have all (3) been 8 lbs. plus with several crunchy spots.
If I could get one of those nice 2.0s I wouldn't have to spend another $120 on Apex parts.

WOW! 8 lbs! This trigger is quite nice, I won't change anything on it. My carry piece is a 1.0 Shield 9. I put an Apex sear in that and polished all contact points of the system.

Love mine, most accurate pistol out-the-box I've ever had the pleasure.
Doesn't seem to like reman 115gr, was dropping brass at my feet.
Ejects heavier rounds and NEW 115gr just fine. Perhaps a break-in issue.
Mine was the CT red dot optics package:

An Apex trigger would be a lot cheaper than a new gun. If I had a 1.0 with a trigger I didn't like, I'd Apex it without a hesitation.

CTS1500 3.5 MOA. I think it's an exclusive-to-manufacturers product, as I cannot find one for sale without buying the pistol it sells with. My only issue with it is how easily the cover falls off.

I did a little research and discovered that in 2016 Smith & Wesson acquired Crimson Trace Optics. So it's probably one of their model specific private optics.
Smith & Wesson to Acquire Crimson Trace Corporation
But then I also found another red dot by JP Rifles that looks very similar to the CTS-1500 so one of them may be rebranded for the other company.
JP Rifles
The cts-1500 is also being released on the new DVG-1 by SCCY
