Good link. I’ve been recommending such a minor adjustment for years on this forum. This in no way interferes with releasing the slide through any other method. It increases options, especially for one handed operation
Go just a little further with polishing that mating edge and you can have your slide “auto forward” and still not interfere with other methods of releasing the slide.
A roughening of the surface with a coarse file, adding a sharp upper angle back, and it will be stiff again. Or buy a new slide stop for -$15.
