Default M&P EZ 380 Slide Locked

New Performance Center Shield EZ 380, not yet fired. When operating the slide by hand, sometimes when the safety if down (off), the slide is locked. Putting the safety up (on) and the slide operates freely. ??

Thanks

Not sure what you are asking, but the .380 EZ is not a 1911 design. The manual safety disengages the trigger, but is not intended to lock the slide. The slide should rack freely whether the manual safety is up or down.

What NukeRef said....also do you have an empty magazine installed when you rack the slide?? If so the slide will lock back....with no magazine the slide will not lock back.

The slide is locking, sometimes, when it shouldn't. It's as if it was disassembled and then reassembled incorrectly i.e. as if the firing pin block lever was hit and bent by the slide during reassembly... but it wasn't.

No magazine. It's sporadic. If the safety is up and I hold just frame, i.e. not messing with the grip safety, the slide can be manipulated back and forth easily. If I lower the safety, again being careful not to mess around the grip safety, sometimes the slide will not move.

On those occasions that the slide will not move, what do you have to do to free it up? Is the condition corrected by simply putting the manual safety on (i.e., move the safety lever up)?

Yes but then it might be locked, might not, when the manual safety is put back down.
