Exclamation Brand new 9mm EZ will not load

Bought a brand new 9mm EZ and took it to the range yesterday. The first magazine ran without a problem. I'm running name brand ammo only.
The second magazine would not load, the cartridge jams at the very top of the ramp. It does this on both magazines. Bought an extra magazine and it's the same result. You have to bump, very lightly, the back of the slide to seat the round.

I polished the ramp until it shined, still no joy. Even hand cycling jams every round.

Switched to name brand hollow points and it still jams.

Any ideas?

Clean and lube per factory manual instructions is always my first step on a new gun.
If still having problems, I strip and clean the magazines, checking for burrs on the lips. I clean disassembled magazines with CRC silicone, and then wipe it all off.

Welcome to the forum.

As noted, clean and lube, etc.....

Slingshot the slide by inserting a loaded mag, pulling back the slide all the way and releasing it. Don't hold onto it while it moves forward into battery.

Good luck

A friend has an EZ because his wife's hand strength is a challenge. They are prone to stoppages if you ride the slide even a wee little bit because the springs are set up to make it easy to cycle. As noted, clean, lube and slingshot the slide. I run a microfiber cloth through the interiors of my magazines (up from the bottom and out the top) to see if anything snags. if so, file, polish, lube and repeat until the cloth moves through without any catches or snags.

I didn't know that you should slap the backside of the mag against the palm of your hand before inserting it. You may want to give it a try if you aren't doing it already, it worked for me.

New guns have microscopically rough mating surfaces. They need to be broken in to smooth out roughness, whether you feel it or not. Since the springs are purposefully weak throughout the EZ system, a little extra friction in any part of the system can initially cause some bobbles.

Not to worry. Disassemble, check, clean, lubricate generously (I prefer grease because it stays in place) and then hand cycle/dry fire the gun a hundred times or more. Everything, including the trigger, will smooth out and Iíll bet it will run fine on your next range trip.

As suggested, do a thorough check of your mags for follower obstruction at the mag catch. It was there on 2/3 mags I had. Filed it away with a fine chain saw round file, and then I rounded the edges of the follower so it slides up and down in the mag tube real slick. Also scuff up the top of your followers to provide more resistance to the round going forward. This actually helps the mags feed better.

Default Great help

Great help from all of you. It appears that there are problems with the magazine having burrs at the lips and the very front. A round file on the underside of the lips and a slight beveling of the front edge solved the problem. Also roughed up the followers.

Thank you all

Grease holds dirt and becomes a light lapping compound.
