M&P 22c doesn't like MiniMags?
New gun owner. Went to the range recently for the first time with my M&P 22c (and my 380 Shield EZ). The 22 ran fine on Aguila Interceptors but did not want to feed CCI MiniMags, at all... Doing research on-line it seems that everyone and every gun loves MiniMags. Curious why mine doesn't seem to. I guess I need to rule out a magazine problem. Any other thoughts?

Beats me; mine is 100% on MiniMags and once broken in with them has been reliable with Aquila and everything else in the house except Wolf MT. (Which functions no automatic in the house except my Woodsman.)
But .22s can be choosy. Where a reloader will be searching out powder and bullet and OAL and plunk, the .22 shooter just has to pick a different brand.

A lot of 22 pistols are picky and not all are the same. CCI standard velocity is considered THE ammo for S&W 41s but my M41 is unreliable with them. Just because a particular type of ammo works best for most guns doesn't mean it will work best in your gun.
Its a lot easier to go with ammo you know works than to try to figure out why the ammo everyone else prefers does not work in your gun. I wasted a lot of time trying to get CCI Std. velocity to work well in my M41 before I gave up and started using MiniMags. If the Aguila ammo works keep using it and don't bother trying to figure out why the MiniMags don't. Assuming you either have a lot of the Aguila already or can find more.

Is it a latest model? What is the year of production?
The new one, fully made in USA (no more Walther's parts) can be fed with anything...
I've been shooting thousands of MiniMags without single issue. (I like Aguilas as well)
Field strip, cleaning and lubricating is recommended before even first shooting.
As Jim Watson suggested - plunk test will give the answer.

Is the Wolf MT the old rebranded SK Standard +, or, the newer, produced by Eley?
I had just the opposite results with the old Wolf MT, where everything seemed to run better, especially my 1990 M41, and a mid 70's SM ACE, both of which can be finicky. It was like the SK was made for them, especially the ACE with that 'floating chamber'.
Not every range trip, but when I use a friends backyard range, I'll load up 5 mags for each and mag dump 50 rnds as fast as I can pull the trigger, just to see if any malfunctions arise. So far, no problems at all with either pistol over the last several years.
No experience with the Eley produced Wolf MT, as I'm still working on the 2 cases of the SK produced Wolf MT I snagged some years ago. When it runs out, I'll pay for the SK Standard Plus.

My stock of Wolf .22 MT and ME is the SK contract stuff of more than 10 years ago. In fact, it shares storage space with SK ammo.
It is accurate in my Savage-Anschutz that I shot when my club was holding CMP Rimfire Sporter matches. But it won't cycle my ACE or M41 or High Standard, just that Gen 3 WMT.

That is just flat out strange, but again, it's .22s, so ?????
My Home Healthcare nurse is both an avid shooter and a fan of higher end knives. She's currently packing a really nice Gerber as EDC part of her kit.
Anyway, a few months back she brought over a new M&P .22 compact for show & tell and I gifted her a box of the Wolf MT and to let me know how it ran in her new pistol.
Well, it ran 100%, but she turned down another box as she did NOT care for the greasy lube used by SK when loading magazines. *I* have more problems with the dried wax lubes, especially if over applied as CCI is apt to do on occasion.
She is still trying different ammo as she can, but pickings are slim right now and her workload is not. Things will settle down ..... Eventually.

My wife loves her little Beretta Bobcat 21A, and shoots nothing but Mini-Mags. As close to 100% reliable as any .22 LR can be.

I haven't found CCI ammo to be sticky or greasy at all. If you want to see some .22 ammo that has excess stickiness, try some RWS.
Mini-Mags are the gold standard for break in and to get semi auto (non Match) pistols to be reliable. Strange that yours doesn't like them.
That happens, .22s can be ammo picky.

A couple of months ago I bought 1000 rounds of NormaUSA TAC-22 online from RKGuns. Two bricks of 10 boxes of 50. When I opened the package I found that one of the bricks had popped open and spilled four or five boxes which also had broken open. There was (still is) so much grease on these cartridges that some were stuck together! I have never seen so much excess grease like that before.
I ran a box through my tired old Ruger Standard and some of the empties actually stuck to the inside of the ejection port! (That's a whole 'nother story with a happy ending.)
It's fair to mention that my new M&P 22 Compact ran a hundred rounds of this ammo through like clockwork, grease and all.

M&P 22 Compact has no problem with Mini Mags, Remington Standard Velocity, Aguila Super Xtra, and Federal Gold Medal HV Match. That's all I've had the chance to shoot through it since I got it in August, 225 rounds.
Paul635, Aguila Interceptors pack a bit more punch that Mini Mags. Seems you need hyper velocity ammo to make yours run. Perhaps a good lubing and some more break in and it will loosen up enough to run the Mini Mags.
