I have used JM Custom Kydex for a few different holsters, a number of them with mounted red dots. Good fella, good products, fair prices for the quality and service.

I just purchased a Hogue ARS Stage 1 Sport Holster from Midway USA. Fits my 5" Core perfectly.

I like Orpaz Defense.
They make holsters both with and without locking retention. The top is open enough to not impact the red dot (in fact I can have a chamber flag inserted and it still holsters and locks) and it's open at the bottom so a longer (5") slide will just extend out the bottom. The front sight channel is tall enough for suppressor height sights. (Sometimes a little lubrication, like silicon spray, is needed to get the Level 2 retention models to lock and release smoothly.)
They also have light-bearing versions (which I haven't tried yet).
Reasonably priced (~$40 from them. Less from some resellers.)

Dale Fricke. I have a few of his holsters, for pistols with and without an RDS.

^^^ for range and competition the Bladetech works well I have been using one for years. This holster is not suitable for concealed carry-it is too high profile, or open carry-it lacks positive retention

I'm using it with my 4" MP 2.0 w/RMR and 3.6 MP. Holds it nice and close to the body OWB and can be switch to IWB.

HDDP We have had a m&p CORE 4.25 since 2014 and today a 4" compact 9mm optic on it and a 5" M&P pc that carrys well in it . and had a RM02 dot optic on it . I notched the front edge of the kydex body for the optic and its worked well . Many of the same holsters today come optic ready .
Note the photo below of current models but you can call and ask if you feel that notching a body would be a problem for you .
