Default Question About M&P 40 Short vs 40 Long

I have a M&P 40 4.25" and I was wanting to purchase a Kit From Performance Center. However, I haven't been able to find a supply that's not out of stock.

But, I've found tons of Performance Center M&P 40 5" Slide kits.

If I purchased the 5" slide kit, would it be compatible with my 40 4.25" Frame?

^2!!

I did this with my 9mm. Bought a Ported CORE 5" slide kit. It didn't come with a recoil spring assembly (rsa) but I already had spares. Topped mine with an RMR. Outstanding!

I should have included that mine is a 1.0 and I added the 1.0 5" slide kit. It was "plug 'n play".

The 4" is a 2.0 so the slide lock notches are different at least.

The 4.25" extends a bit beyond the dust cover. The 4" looks pretty even so it might not expose the recoil spring but I can't say for sure.

Here's a vid showing what it takes to put a 1.0 slide on a 2.0 frame if you want to slingshot.
