So I have an opportunity to purchase a brand new M&P40 Shield 1.0 Performance Center with a ported barrel for $447 out the door and was wondering if that's a good deal?
It seems good to me, heck based on pricing I've seen elsewhere it seems downright excellent, but I wanted to be sure before I jump in headfirst.


EDIT: Couldn't pass it up. I looked into it an the going rate on M&P40 Shield 1.0 Performance Centers is currently $499, so $447 OTD is excellent. Also, I didn't mention this before, but it's the model with Night Sights instead of Fiber Optic.
So yeah, I feel good about my purchase.

If you like 1.0 and have nothing against... <$500 OTD gonna be very fair price for this model.

Congrats on your new tool

I actually was so frantic to buy it once I found out that there were only two in stock that I accidentally ordered two, then I had to contact the website and request that they cancel the duplicate order.
Fortunately, the website responded almost immediately informing me that the duplicate order had been cancelled and that I wasn't charged.

I've been looking for a new subcompact conceled carry option that I could use for Summer Carry as well as a "just incase" sort of deal since I'm a bit worried that my state might start imposing magazine capacity restrictions in the future, and I'd like to be ahead of the curb. So the M&P40 Shield PC should be just the ticket.

The state? Hell the new left wing Congress and White House will probably pass and “assault” weapons ban and mag capacity limit nationwide! Remember the Clinton era with the AWB.

Biden already proposed stamp tax for every weapon and every mag over 10 rounds. Rumor was $200 for each weapon AND each magazine over 10 rounds.

Which will amount to refactor national gun registration. As the feds will know by who paid the tax who owns what weapons and how many mags etc! At least for those weapons. But what are the chances that. Person who owns an AR-15 won’t have other guns with 10 or less round capability??

And exactly what would the Billions of dollars said tax would fund. I suspect more gun control legislation or even the federal goons who will come knock on your door to confiscate said assault weapons and mags!

All just hypothetical at this point. But you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see the hand writing on the wall!

That is a distinct possibility, but one I simply chose not to mention because it gets into the realms of political discussion, which is strictly prohibited here.

That being said, I've said said this before and I'll say it again, I strongly suspect that any attempt at nationwide confiscation of "assault weapons" will be met with mass noncompliance and/or an unprecedented amount of folks reporting that their firearms were stolen, both legitimately and falsely.
