Smile Saw an interesting Shield yesterday.

I was in a local shop yesterday and they really didn't have a lot. But they did have a Shield 2.0, 40S&W from the Performance Center. It was pretty cool. It had a 4inch barrel and the fiber optic sight. If I didn't already have my 2.0 Compact 40 I would have considered buying it.

Do people here have that same variation and do you like it? It seems a bit big for a carry gun and in that size category you could have a double stack. Somebody please talk me into getting it!

Jay

No idea about the 40 but if it is as good as the 9mm I would buy it. The Shield has been around for a while now and is a great pistol in my opinion.

All depends how do you feel about single stack. M&P Shield is a great handgun and easier to conceal than M&P Compact.

It's good idea to have more firearms, but I always opt to carry one model only (train with it and be proficient with)

33jayman I don't find any difference for carry between a 4" barrel and your shorter 3.1" barrel . You might be a tinny bit faster clearing the holster but are you still faster in target with a well placed first and second shot fired . Only a timer will tell . I also prefer a longer holster like for the 4"model that depending on make can allow for a higher carry on my side . I have been looking for a single stack and I am a 40sw guy . My dealer has both a short pc shield and a couple 4" pc shield and I much prefer the 4" . Might buy it tomorrow , darn sure no 3.1" version .

Just my opinion but if I could buy a production 1911 4" or 4.25" alloy frame thats what I would have .

I have been looking hard at the Ronin also. I think the LW Commander in .45acp would be a really sweet gun.
