New 2.0 Compact = Reset ?
Have a new 2.0 Compact 9mm and the reset is so faint as to be barely audible. A little surprising as the 2.0 was supposed to have an improved clearly audible reset. I assume this is one of those anomalies that sometimes occurs, but not sure of the fix.

You guys put way way to much importance on an audible reset.

I’m not putting the audible reset in the important category at all. It’s in the “surprising” category and the only reason it’s there is because it’s an item that S&W points out as a significant feature. Personally, to me, it’s rather moot.

I agree with cactus-Jack above. This audable tactile reset thing is way over blown and in some ways the staying in contact with the trigger is as well. Some of the best shooters in the world do not agree with the concept of staying on the trigger and only letting out to the reset point and they do just fine. In reality you might not hear it anyway and in a gun fight all bets are off in terms of what will really happen!

No argument from me at all on that score. I agree with both Cactus and the Marshall, but I resolutely defend my right to be “surprised”. You guys have good one!

I can feel it. And kinda like watching a sporting event on mute, and somebody strikes the ball, I can hear it in my mind. And both events let me know we're ready to go the other way with the trigger. So there's that . . .

IMO, you have a "right" to be surprised.
However, given the 1,000's of prior post regarding reset, we maintain our "right" to eyeroll when someone complains about it.

I understand the OP's comment. Opinions vary about all the finer points of the sport, reset included, but since Smith advertised it then it should stand out as a characteristic. No big deal one way or another to most shooters...just saying I understand the comment. I put Apex in mine anyway so...

After the first round without earpro, there's no way I'll hear the reset. Or care.

The reset on my 2.0 M&Ps is far more audible and tactile than any of my 1.0 guns. Although not as prominent as my Glocks, it's definitely an improvement over the 1.0 line.
