S&W m&p 2.0 compact questions.
I found a barely used m&p 2.0 compact with with white dot and no thumb safety, four 15 round mags, spacers for 17 round mag, backstraps, and original box for $529. I am a left handed shooter and I was curious to know if the slide and mag release are reversible? Thank you for your time.

I think it has a slide release on the right side, but don't know about the mag release. Are you able to use your left index finger for the latter?

Mag release is reversible. Slide release is ambidextrous.

Can confirm, and the mag release can be reversed in less than a minute.

Thanks. The new guns slide release I saw at another gun store seemed a bit stiff and hard to release with my left hand. But doing it with my right hand, left side of gun, was smooth as butter. I just wasn't too sure if slide release was actually ambidextrous.

It is ambi, but the right side (left hand) lever is harder to use and we have seen a very small number where there is excess polymer in that area preventing the lever from being able to release the slide. It’s an easy fix even though it shouldn’t be a problem in the first place.

The slide lever is more STOP than RELEASE for left handed shooters. Especially in 2.0 models.
But... with time, patience and a little work (sometimes simple part polishing works) you will get release functionality.
However - whatever you do, when you compare left and right release functionality - they will never be the same (just the lever by itself hasn't been designed well)

I have had a 1.0 for years with ambi safety. I went and looked at it and realized for the first time it had an ambidexterous slide release.
