If you’re referring to the set screw in the rear site, all my m&ps have a 1/16 hex (allen). In my experience an actual “precision” driver with a 1/16 hex head works much better that a typical shaped allen wrench.

What part are you trying to access? If it’s the actual striker you don’t have to remove the rear site. If your trying to access the strikers block and spring, then yes it is held in place by the rear site.

Yes the striker and spring on the optics ready slide removing the rear sight does nothing there is a teardrop metal plate where the optic mounts with a screw or allen that has to be removed I have tried quite a few none fit

Just a small Allen key. Back it off, the metal cover will come over. There is a nipple on the other side that fits into the plunger spring when you reassemble.
