Default Custom S&W M&P9 Selling for

I know that I am out of touch with the last year's prices, but do M&P's- even salient custom M&Ps - although they are good guns really sell for the $2,295 my LGS is asking?

I would absolutely love to know what went into the pistol to make it $2300 worth... I'm always open-minded, but that's a LOT

The Salient Arms site has their custom Tier 1 M&P for about $2400 so I dont think the LGS is out of line. I bought my M&P M9 2.0 last year for about $550. If you really want that specific Salient model, go for it. If you’re just looking for an M9, you can get a base model and upgrade the trigger and sights for a lot less money than that.

SAI Tier One Smith & Wesson M&P | Products | Salient Arms

Details here. Wouldn’t mind shooting one sometime but too rich for my blood. You could almost buy a case of 9mm for that. ;-)

I have that much in my carry FS M&P 1.0 9mm, but that includes Apex parts and their custom gunsmith fit threaded barrel; Trij RMR machined into the slide; suppressor height nite sites; customized frame and dehorned slide; SS recoil guide rod; 8 mags (2 = +4 extended); 2 holsters and a mag carrier. More gun with more features.

I do not imagine that there are any circumstances were I would pay that much for any current production handgun. I bought my M&P 20 years ago for less than six boxes of ammo cost now. I found the price to be very surprisingly high.

The Ed Brown Fueled series start at something like $2100

https://www.edbrown.com/fueled-series/

Of course for that money you get new machined slide, barrel, locking block, trigger work, magwell and a couple of mag baseplagtes.

Precisely! I did exactly that for my two MP M2.0s by adding APEX trigger and fitted barrels, plus tritium sights for less than HALF the above $$$.
