Default FDE M&P 9 2.0 5" color fill

I had not seen any FDE color-filled, so I offer up the work I did to mine as an example for those wishing to do the same so you will know how it will look when completed. I used the nail polish method with non-acetone nail polish remover and the process took about 45 minutes for the slide and the barrel. Nice and subtle, nothing overly flashy - I think it came out pretty good, welcome the feedback and flames (flamesuit on)

Looks great. I have the same gun but I’m not sure I have the talent or steady hand to do the same.

You probably haven't seen any other FDE guns color filled, because guys that choose the FDE finish want subtle, not stand out.

PLUS, most color-filled details will fade away as one continually cleans their weapons with various chemical components.

But hey, it does look nice for pictures at least.

Black on FDE is still very subdued. Doesn't really stand out. Black & Tan/FDE/Brown makes for a good camo combo.

It's a pretty easy task. Just cover all of the stampings with whatever color you want. Wait until it dries, then wipe off the excess with alcohol, or some type of mild paint thinner. Easy peasy.

OP said he used nail polish. That's pretty durable stuff. Most gun cleaning solvents won't bother it at all. You'd need something acetone based to dissolve the nail polish.
