M&P 2.0 .40 SW question drop free magazine problem
I just bought a 2.0 M&P in .40 S&W and none of my 1.0 magazines drop free like my 1.0 did, nor does the original...doesn't matter if it is empty or not...Is there a fix on this or a design change?
Randy
PS. Even with NO backstrap on the frame the magazines still don't drop free.

Here’s one for you. My M&P 2.0 5-inch .40SW will drop its mags free and will drop-free all of my older mags that I use with my original M&P40. There’s no design change that I’m aware of. One such as that would be catastrophic to the model, given its intended use.

All of my mags, ones that came with my 1.0 .40, and ones that came with my 2.0 .40 interchange without issue.

Field strip it. Now insert an empty mag until it locks. Now release it. Does it drop free?
If not, remove the mag lock. Now insert a mag. Do you feel any resistance? Look inside the mag well to see if there are any signs of rubbing.

If it is rubbing the sides if the magwell Field strip the gun, then put strips of tape on the mag and insert it in the magwell... It will be hard to insert, now take a heat gun and heat the grip being careful not no melt the plastic but warm enough to relax it. Now let it cool, remove tape clean it. Check for function. Repeat if needed.
