Holster for Shield Plus 4" barrel?
Looking at their web site, it seems Smith is only offering a 4" barrel in the Shield Plus Performance Center version. I saw one at the store, love it, brought it home ... now I can't find a holster.
It's only been out since March, apparently. Anybody find a kydex or hybrid IWB holster for the Shield Plus 4" barrel yet?
My favorite concealed holsters are Alien Gear, Tier 1, and Crossbreed. Tier 1 and Crossbreed are "working on" a holster, and Alien Gear won't say. I lost all my belly fat with keto and now I can carry appendix again. Wife loves it.
PS, I wonder why Smith measures their barrels from the breech? Shouldn't they measure from the beginning of the lands?

Try Wright Leatherworks: Premium Quality Leather Concealed Carry Holsters | Handmade In The USA
After much searching, this is where I finally found an OWB leather for a 4" PC Shield 45.

Most all guns measure their barrel from the breech except for revolvers. Shotguns, bolt guns, semi-auto pistols etc. So basically, the chamber is included in the barrel length. I believe this is the way the ATF measures the barrels, not a manufacture decision.
Does your wife love the 4" barrel, or the loss of belly fat, or the appendix carry?

I'm very confused as I thought the 3.1" barrel was the only option for the Shield Plus. It's all I see on the Smith website:
M&P Shield Plus | Smith & Wesson
My son bought a Shield Plus Performance Center edition last night and it has a 3.1" barrel. Comparing it side by side with my 1.0 Shield it is identical in size except for a slightly fatter grip. Any holster that fits a Shield should also fit a Shield Plus. I know his fits the High Noon holster I had for my old Shield.

She's happy to see me fit in my wedding suit again. Not that I ever wear suits anymore! Carhartt overalls, yes.

Well that makes two of us confused. That S&W link you posted above lists a 3.1" barrel under Performance Center, but the link I posted only shows 4" barrel. And then your son has one in his hand that's 3.1" ... go figure!
Because we literally have a std Shield for every member of our family, having the Plus in 4" will help us to recognize which is which. The Plus mag won't fit in the std Shield or visa versa.
And that is why an appendix holster with spare mag carrier such as the Tier 1 Axis Elite has to be reworked to fit the Plus. The guns fit but the mag is bigger. And even the Plus gun might not fit well in a tight, rigid Kydex holster built to std Shield size. The Plus is a few 32nds wider.

If there is any Shield Plus with a 4" barrel offered anywhere could someone post a link, as I've never seen or heard of one. No such thing is listed on the Smith & Wesson official website.
I see those holster manufacturers talking like there is such a thing but I don't see that gun anywhere. Unless they have inside information about a future release?

This is my own summary so accuracy not guaranteed, but I tried to condense the spec sheet info down to the significant differences between models.
There are currently 10 models (SKU's) with the "Shield Plus" label (all chambered in 9mm). Seven models are designed with a 3.1" barrel and three models have a 4" barrel:
M & P Pistols:
SKU 13246: 3.1", thumb safety, 13 rd mag + 10 rd mag
SKU 13247: 3.1", thumb safety, two 10 rd mags
SKU 13248: 3.1", no thumb safety, 13 rd mag + 10 rd mag
SKU 13249: 3.1", no thumb safety, two 10 rd mags
SKU 13250: 3.1", no thumb safety, 13 rd mag + 10 rd mag, tritium night sights
Performance Center: (all include: 13 rd mag + 10 rd mag; fiber optic sights; small cleaning kit)
SKU 13251: 4.0", no thumb safety, optics cut slide w/ Crimson Trace 4 MOA red dot
SKU 13252: 4.0", no thumb safety, regular slide
SKU 13253: 4.0", no thumb safety, optics cut slide w/ Crimson Trace 4 MOA red dot, ported barrel and slide
SKU 13254: 3.1", thumb safety, ported barrel and slide (no optics cut or red dot)
SKU 13255: same as 13254 plus "Carry Kit" (knife and flashlight)

Dale Fricke. Drop him a line after you look at his website. When I had him make a couple of holsters for my customized G17 with a new Aimpoint Acro sight, he was able to borrow a sight, had me send him a couple cell phone pictures, and cranked it out in a reasonable time. I have at least 4 holsters from him.

I just bought the S&W M&P Shield Plus Performance Center 9mm w/the 4” ported slide & barrel, fiber optic sites with Crimson Red Dot Optic SKU 13253, I was looking for a holster for it, I have Alien Gear holsters for other guns so I contacted them and was told they do not currently make any holster for the M&P 4” PC Shield Plus with the Optic, I then reached out to Tier1 to see if they have and Agis Elite or Axis Elite and was told they do not and don’t have any plans to make one in the future, I found “We The People Holsters” do make a single IWB holster, single Mag holder for this model, not sure if I should buy it or keep looking.

Well if you can find someone local that makes Kydex holsters, they can fit one to your gun and you can screw it to an Alien Gear.

Bianchi’s model 57 holster for the M&P 4” fits the 4” Shield Plus like a glove. You might expect it to be loose but it isn’t. The full size M&P is rather tight so the Plus is retained reasonably well.

I just spoke with Tier 1 last week and they indicated that they are working on an Axis Elite AIWB holster for the Shield Plus line. FYI

My Tier 1 holster that I got for my Shield 1.0 3.1" (with TLR6) fits my Shield plus 4" with red dot (and TLR6) just fine.
The side car is a little snug for the mag even in the widest I can make it.
Currently looking for other holsters too.
Justholsterit.com
Seems to make custom set ups with Kydex.
Got 3 Holsters from Justholsterit
Not happy with any of them for me.
The rmr cuts don't like up either.
If your running no lights/laser or red dot they might be fine.
Getting a non TLR6 T-one holster.
I also have had good luck with concealment express, .
T-1 is expensive ($160+), but for me worth it.

My Hidden Hybrid IWB holster for a Shield 9 is my favorite, very comfortable (all day) & concealable, has 2 adjustment screws for tension, similar to Crossbreed and Galco Kingtuk holsters. They have other holsters too.
Forgot to note, live in the College Station, TX area...

Ditto on the previous recommendation for the Concealment Express holsters. I have several for my S&W M&P 9c and Shield Plus and
they work great and are a good value.

Crossbreed Holsters
Howdy,
I just ordered a few Plus holsters from Crossbreed. Their AIWB is called Reckoning System, with a spare mag holder attached. They're nice folks to deal with and the wait to receive them is only 2 weeks. I'd rather run Tier1 Access Elite AIWB but they still have none for the Plus, and their wait time is 2 months anyway.
I'll keep y'all posted. We handle wedding and church security. We're retiring all our Shields to the spare gun safe, and carrying the Plus now. Trigger feel and reset are both improved imho.
FYI

My Versa Carry Protector S1 and Rapid Slide S1 holsters work for both my 4" Shield 2.0 9mm and Shield Plus 4". It also fits my Glock 19.
I like these holsters - very versatile!
