Hopefully this doesn't amount to a dumb question, but how do you take the magazine buttplate off the 13 rd Shield Plus magazine? It doesn't seem to be the same "press in on the catch and slide the buttplate off" design that the full size M&P and shield plus 10 rd magazine have. The catch doesn't seem to press in at all on any of the 13 rounders.

Just looked at the magazine and it ain't a dumb question. I don't see the magic button to push either. Didn't get to rough with it. Hopefully some one will have the secret. I did an online search and did not get any results.

According to the manual the floor plate is SUPPOSED to just slide off. It is on there tight and will require some force. I did not remove mine as I really don't have a reason to right now. But it will require some effort to get it off, I have some small plastic tip bars that I will try to use when I do need to take it off.

Please be aware that once you slide off the floor plate a few times, it'll loosen up a bit. This could allow it to slip off during use if you insert the mag and tend to push forward as you slap it with the palm of your hand.

The floor plate is held in place by an interference fit (reference Figure 82, page 37, of the Safety and Instruction manual). It's difficult to slide off the 1st time as described in the manual, by gripping the floor plate and pulling (ref Figure 72, page 35). I used a thin flat blade screw driver, placing the blade in the gap between the Floor Plate and Grip Spacer/Adapter (reference Figure 74, page 36) and GENTLY Pried the Floor Plate loose. Once the Floor Plate is loose, keep your thumb on the Floor Plate Catch (to prevent the spring from flying out) and slide the Floor Plate catch off the magazine.
