Default S&W 2.0 compact 4” optics recommended

Just picked this one up the other day. S&W 2.0 compact optics ready 4”. Any suggestions for red dot sights. I’ll use it mainly at the range. Just don’t want to spend over $200 if possible. Feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Joe

For that money you will probably look into Crimson Trace CTS-1550.

No feedback from me about this one. It has just come to my mind because CT optics are installed by S&W by default.

Holosun 407c routinely goes on sale for under $200. Holosun makes the cheapest “good” reddot and has proven reliability, if somewhat inconsistent QC. They have a good warranty and customer service from all reports. If you don’t mind purchasing from a Chinese manufacturer, Holosun is the way to go.

Jester . First off see if you like a green fiber optic front sight over red . Only simple comparison you might find in a good gun shop !

I have a m&p 2.0 4" compact optic ready . sku:13144 I bought a holosun 507C-GR-X2 as I like the green better for both low and brite light . It set up to run as a circle only for defense and runs on auto adjustment mode . Its sleep thru the night and is very quick awake and uses a trijicon adaptor plate . Holosun does make the same circle dot in red to and a red chevron that to me would be better on a carbine maybe .

I also removed a RM02 from my wifes m&p CORE after she said she might claim my new compact as hers !! HA The trijicon RM02 is a very good dot optic BUT the lens coating is not as good in low light conditions and has less features .

After a lot of testing for realiability/durability I am confident that if you have the money to spend you want a variant of the RMR. If you have money to spend you want a Holosun. Unless of course this is for a range toy, as you mentioned, than pretty much anything will do.
