Apex Trigger question
I've read several articles about the Apex Trigger being installed on an M&P, with good results. I was wondering if this voids the factory warranty. Thanks.

I always keep the factory parts in a little plastic bag should it ever have to go back to the factory. Simply swap them back out to original configuration.

I don't think there is a simple yes or no answer to such a question.
Anecdotally, I have been advised by a S&W acquaintance to remove all custom items from a firearm returned for warranty work, and have only stock parts in it.
I know one IDPA shooter that lost an aftermarket trigger in a Sigma by returning it under warranty to S&W, and receiving back a new stock trigger.
On the other hand, I know a USPSA competitor that literally shot a highly modified M&P to pieces, put back the original stock parts, and S&W replaced major parts under warranty.

I would add it isn't difficult finding most M&P parts, including entire sear housings, at fairly inexpensive prices. I've actually apexed a spare trigger bar and sear housing and kept the originals as is. Takes about 10 minutes to fully tear down an M&P to bare frame.

As long as the issue you experience is not due to the aftermarket parts, you can reinstall the stock parts and send it in to S&W.
I've not had any issues with mine yet, but my FS and Compact (both 1.0) have 2.0 triggers and the FS has a CORE slide. I still have all the original parts. If/when I encounter an issue that's not ammo/magazine related, I'll restore the original parts and see if it still has the issue. If so, it might go back, depending on the issue.
As ultratec00 says, spare are around and fairly cheap. I've ben buying M&P spares for a few years now when I see them on sale, have a discount coupon, or just need a few $$ more to get free shipping when ordering other stuff.

I have read some users of Apex triggers experienced return springs breaking and for compitition shooting or range toy I don't see a problem but for a carry gun I would never trust apex in my duty gun. Overwatch precision is a different story, they use OEM trigger bars in their glock models and walther ppq. apex triggers are great for comp shooting however

Here's my experience with returning an Apexed M&P to S&W: My 1.0 M&P 40 compact with an Apex DCAEK installed (3,000 rounds on the DCAEK) started to have failures to fire. I contacted S&W, and they agreed to repair it. Quite honestly, I forgot I had the Apex kit in it, and I sent it in, Apex and all. S&W never said a word about it. They ended up replacing every moving part except the extractor, and returned it to me along with the Apex parts, at no charge. They even paid for the shipping. Total turnaround time was about five weeks. This was four years ago, and I don't know if their warranty policy has changed since, but in my case, the presence of Apex parts had no effect whatsoever on S&W's lifetime service policy.
The only negative was that I ended up with a brand-new factory M&P trigger system. And like most new 1.0 triggers, it was stiff and gritty as heck compared to the DCAEK. On the other hand, the failures to fire went away, and surprisingly, accuracy was not affected by the rougher trigger. I never reinstalled the DCAEK, because I didn't know what part it may have played in the failures to fire.
My advice is that if you ever need to send your Apexed M&P back to the factory, go ahead and do it.

It won't void your warranty. But S&W will remove all non OEM parts. So don't send it in with the Apex.
I Have the Duty Carry Kit in mine. But I needed it as mine is a 10LB MA trigger.

Apex springs are heavier than the OEM springs. APEX triggers also make use of your existing OEM bar. APEX also has kits specifically for duty/carry. From a manufacturing standpoint APEX is the best you will find for your M&P. Anything OEM is going to looser tolerances to account for mass manufacturing. Although M 2.0 are significantly better. You can’t go wrong with Apex, but try to find and try multiple triggers first if you can. Figure what you like best. After trying several (from multiple manufacturers) I found I liked the APEX curved polymer duty/carry setup the best.
As others have already mentioned, retain stock parts and return to stock configuration before sending in.
