I totally agree and putting a match trigger on a gun with iron sights almost seems pointless unless you have matching match grade iron sights. For guns that have red dot definitely having a match trigger like the OverWatch precision can make a huge difference in speed not sure I would want that kind of trigger in a self-defense gun

I think it was meant to be a duty trigger. I don’t mind them one bit, even shoot them well

For competition guns I have no problem putting flat triggers but for carry guns I would not trust aftermarket flat triggers especially if it lowers the trigger weight because many makers such as Apex tactical had Dead trigger issues they had issues with light primer strikes or if not now several hundred rounds later or thousands of rounds later they would start to get light primer strikes and this is why for a carry gun I keep them stock and if I need a lighter trigger I'll just switch brands until I find a gun that I like the Walther PDP and PPQ out of the box are great triggers the m&P 2.0 compacts and full size bone stock or perfectly acceptable and I shoot well with both of them even with the hinge trigger

Hinge triggers were novelty to safety. If s+w really believed in them, they should have kept them in their new releases and performance options .. but you can see where that went.

try a Massachusetts trigger! 10+ pounds. Horrible, absolutely, dreadful , trigger pull.
That’s what I have. If you think it’s bad, try the NY2 trigger on a Glock-lol
I’m trying to figure out how to get the shield to a regular stock trigger or even I want to. I’m used to the MA trigger now.
