Shield 9 slide wont come off
How do
My slide will not come off no matter what I try.
My gun will lock back. The slide lock spring on some off these pistols jumps out of the groove that holds them and prevents the slide from being removed. Mine is in the groove.
With the slide locked back, I rotate the take down lever forward. Release the slide and at the same time pull the trigger. No go.
Ive moved the firing pin sear lever inside the chamber down so you dont need to pull the trigger. No go
Safety on and off. No go. Empty mag in to lock back or mag out no go.
I saw online that there is a way to get the slide off by removing the backplate which I have done. But I cant find any videos on what to do once the backplate is off.
Any you guys know get the slide off from the rear?

I had a similar problem last time I shot and cleaned mine. As I recall, I had actually rotated the sear lever too far.

Your recoil spring assembly (RSA) may have slipped out of place, which would cause your problem. Grab the protruding end of your RSA (use pliers, if necessary), pull it to release the tension, wiggle it a bit, and it should move back into place. Good Luck!

The above and:
Sometimes the slide lock spring slips out of the locking block and will prevent the slide from coming off. Look closely. The spring is circled in red. If it came out, you should be able to push it back into the slot. (hover/click on the image to see full size)

Very silly question, but did you take the mag out first? You may guess why I ask.

He stated he lowered the sear with the sear lever, can’t do that with a magazine installed.

My vote is for the RSA having slipped off its ledge.
