I thought I was pretty well set up with the pistols I "needed" for CCW. Then a buddy of mine got a Shield+ to replace his 1st gen Shield. I was at my favorite local gun shop a couple weeks ago, just looking around. Looked in the pistol case just to see if they had a Shield+ to fondle; good news, they didn't. THEN the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted to look at something. I said I was just wanting to look at the new Shield and see that they didn't have one. THEN he reached under the counter and pulled one out with the bug out bag, and 5 magazines. THEN he tells me the price.
I, I, I pull out my wallet.
Anyway, the darn thing followed me home.
I've put nearly 300 rounds of ammo thru it; everything from fmj
practice ammo to 4 different holowpoint loads; zero hiccups.
Next up: a new holster.
I'm a fan of N82 Tactical Professional IWB holsters. They just fit me well and are comfortable enough to wear all day, if need be.
So I go their web sight; it doesn't look the same and I come to find out that Cross Breed has bought them. Change the name to N8 Tactical. So I'm looking a their lineup and the first, most obvious change is that they ar now using kydex instead of clear polycarbonate. But looking farther I see that they are making OWB holster with the same type of retention that they use in the iwb Professional Holster. And they are offering owb magazine holsters. So................I end up ordering an iwb for the Shield+ and an owb holster for my M&P9c and mag holder.
The owb holster is just what I've been looking for. I'm still not completely sold on the kydex iwb holster, but I probably will keep it(N82 holsters have always come with the" Two Week, Try It Free Guarantee"). And will probably be ordering an owb for my Shield+.
So, I'm very happy with my new Shield and mostly satisfied with the new holster purchase.
Oh, yeah almost forgot; the Shield+ is optic ready, so there goes another rabbit hole to follow.
So I hope all you M&P enablers are happy; I'm farther down the rabbit hole and going deeper all the time
