New Shield Plus
I picked up the new Shield Plus. The fit and finish is perfect.
Function is another story. The only issue is the trigger.
The trigger feels and sounds gritty, like sand paper rubbing together. Just need to figure out the parts that needs to be polished. So far, I like my Shield 2.0 trigger better.

I had the same issue with my new 9mm Plus. It is the striker block safety (if that's the correct term). Try a little white lithium or Super Lube (grease) on it and for me, it solved the problem 100% and did not require any disassembly other than a basic field strip removing the slide, turning it upside down and applied the Super Lube. After some manual cycling, and a trip to the range and about 70 rounds through it, no more grittiness, trigger is smooth and breaks cleanly as it should. I really like this gun but I admit that upon first inspection and the gritty trigger I had my doubts...all resolved. The gun is a great shooter. Good luck...hope that helps. Ron J.

Yup, I found it and spritzed some CLP on the series 80 style safety plunger. I'm a 1911 guy so....
Any way it is already getting better.
Thanks

I can't really say that I understand all the hoopla over the new trigger. I actually favor the Shield 2.0 trigger over the Plus, at this time. It could be mental. I guess my mind thinks a curved contoured trigger fits a round finger better than a flat trigger. Time will tell.
The texture on the frame has 3 different levels of texture that I can see. The slide lock is a bit larger.
The fit and finish are perfect.
I'm stunned that this little gun is virtually the same size but now has 10+1/13+1 capability.
I like it.😎

Yes they are! I have both PC and non-PC Shield + and there's quite a difference.

Great guns and shoot great. I have 2 PC of the 3.1" and 1 4". For me the Plus is the best shooting sub compact on the market. I find the gun to be very reliable and accurate. I also have a Shield PC 2.0 3.1", PC 4" .45acp, and a PC .45acp 3.6"

I should clarify a couple of them are being used by the wife. A 3.1" plus and the 4" plus. I do occasionally carry the 4". But yes I do like the Shields. IMO a great gun at the price point and the go bag special was tremendous deal.

I noticed the same thing on my Shield Plus when just working the trigger. Thing about this is if you cock and dry fire it you don't feel the gritty part of the travel.
What I believe is happening is when the thing is not cocked the striker is against the blocker, so as you pull the trigger you're feeling the two pieces rubbing against each other.
With the slide off, you can manually pull the striker back to where it would be when cocked and not against the blocker/striker safety, and feel a difference when pushing the the plunger as the trigger bar would.
One thing to be careful about if you decide to take it apart to "fix" this, make sure the plunger can move freely. When installing the dovetail plate on my example I messed up the alignment of the spring which caused the plunger to bind, and in turn caused the trigger to not reset properly.

The first reason I purchased the Shield 2.0 was its size and that I got it for around $330. I was surprized how well it shot.
I got the plus for $399. I was stunned how S&W squeezed in more ammo in virtually the same size frame.
The Sig 365 goes for a heck of a lot more $$$. I just wasn't interested in the Sig 365, Springfield Hellcat, Ruger or the Tarus micros. I wanted some that I was already familiar with and that is the Shield Plus.

Yikes! Yes you are correct. I can't feal anything gritty during the trigger pull when the sear is engaged, only a crisp clean trigger break. I'm good with how it works now and I do not plan to take it apart unless I add new sights.
