Does anyone know if Smith is factory-producing two-tone M & Ps, if they are a limited run, etc.? One of my co-workers saw them at Cabella's, but didn't know if they were unique to one distributor or what.

You can always have the slide Hard Chromed.
I'm thinking of doing that to my M&P-9c.

Are we sure he saw the M&P, and not the SIGMA VE model?

He said they were M&Ps, but, well- you never know if you weren't there yourself!

This place has such a great cross section of lunatics, you'll probably be seeing one that's been taken to the buffer by the weekend! That's what I love best about this joint. Most members are nearly as nuts as I am, when it comes to screwing with machinery!

I polished the flat sides of my Sigma slide to a mirror shine. 800, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500 wet sand then Mothers mag polish. Took about 4 hours.

Are you sure it wasn't an SW99? There have been a lot of new .40S&W SW99s with stainless slides cropping up lately for around that price.

in some of the online Cabelas Store Sale fliers
but not for all of the stores

I have owned a full size MP 40 since they came out, I don't mistake it for anything else. The price was way low compared to what black MP are going for around here. I would not mistake a sw99 for MP 40, sir. I just looked it up on their site, Don't remember how to paste clickable link, but I am correct here is the link right off the cabela website, cut and paste it. OK its clickable now, turn to page 8 lower right of page click once on the pic to enlage the picture. I reread my post, I sound snippy, not my intention, sorry about that.

I saw 2 of the two-tones you're describing @ Cabela's in Hamburg PA today. Not my style, but they are new and not "doctored" up. Price is $499.

The picture you are linking to is a sigma not a M&P. The Sigma's are two tone and much cheaper.

If you look up a few posts you will see where I posted the link, however you must turn the pages of the flyer on Cabela's website yourself, (Page 9). I can't do that for you, I tried it always seems to start on page 1.

Actually, the link IS to a bi-tone M&P. If you turn through the pages, you will see this:

I know, old thread. I searched for Cabela, and this is what I got.
Has anyone bought one of the new Cabela M&P offerings in the Darth Earth/stainless slide? Pictures?

I've seen a couple bare stainless slides at gun shops. One was an M&P9c and the other was a Pro series 9mm w/5" barrel. I've had Robar do 3 of my M&Ps with their NP3 finish, which was money well spent. This finish is much better than the factory Melonite. It requires very little lubrication, wears better and looks great, it also makes cleaning easier.

A LGS has a used one for sale. IMO the stainless slide looks odd with the dark earth frame.

I love my M&P's, but I just don't care for those shiny slides. Too much like a SA XD.

Why would you want it on a service pistol? I'll leave the stainless, chrome etc for my range and fun guns. JMO.

Yes, they make them factory. Got this one from a gun shop, not Cabella's. I didn't know they made one until I found this one.

While I think that the two tone M&P's at Cabelas were a 'one off'. S&W has these handsome (I think they are anyway) M&Ps in nickel boron coating on the slide and barrel, which has much less friction between moving parts and requires less cleaning. Alas, S&W states "Dealer sets actual pricing":
Product: Model M&P40 Nickel Boron Coated Barrel and Slide
