Hello,
I have several M&P's in 9mm & .45. I have often wondered how many times the frame tool (that holds the interchangeable palm swells) can be removed before it becomes loose. Has anyone had a problem with this part wearing and becoming loose?

Mine is never used. I can use a pinky in it's place and never change grips but I have wondered the same thing.

Once I decided which backstrap I preferred I haven't touched it since.

I messed mine up soon after I got it. I called S&W Customer Service, told them what I did (broke off the nub), and they sent me a new one free. I seldom remove it anymore...just use a pen or something similar to push down the Sear disconnect lever. The same one has been in the gun for two years now and is still tight as ever.

I've only jerked around with mine once. This, during initial trials of the various back straps. Since then I've not disturbed it, using my pinky to do the work in the mag well. I can see the benefit to having one or two spares as a JIC?

Ditto your experience. Broke the nub on the first day and got a replacement from S&W. Haven't used it since.
