I have a M&P9 which has the mag safety and I was thinking about getting one in a 40 cal. Seems like all I can find is the version that does not have the mag safety. Is this the standard now or are they just moving guns without premag safety? I would like to be consistent with my guns, especially if they look alike. Thanks in advance for your input.

They are still listed on the website, most of my distributors are running them out the door as fast as they come in. You might have to have your dealer put it on backorder to get one. 209000 15rd, M/S, IL, and 209200 15rd, M/S.

I just had the same experience. My local gun store searched for two weeks for a 209200 and could not get one. Evidently the only way currently to get a mag safety and no internal lock is to buy a 109250 which is a MA-class gun with 10-round mags (bad) and a 10lbs. trigger (bad).

Why not get one with the mag safety and just remove the mag safety parts?

It's super easy, and you end up with an M&P that has no silly warning engraved on the slide.

I think the problem is wanting a gun with the mag disconnect and not being able to find one.

Yes, that is correct.
So they are still making both versions? ie with and without mag safety?

If you can tolerate one with a 10lbs. trigger and 10 round mags...then yes. Or you can buy one without the disconnect and have it installed...though you'd end up with a gun that says it can fire with the mag removed that can't fire with the mag removed.

Just looked again and Jerrys Sports Centers shows both the 209000/200 in stock. Have your dealer call Monday because they'll probably be gone by Tuesday.
